I have been playing guitar for 10 years now and have been privileged enough to be playing professionally for the last 5 years. I started up being heavily influenced by the guitar playing of Simon Nicol and Richard Thompson and the traditional folk music of the UK and regularly enjoyed playing guitar for a number of dance bands around Kent. I also took part in a local Jazz ensemble.
In my teens I was introduced to the rock and blues guitar of Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Chuck Berry, David Gilmour and Jimmy Page and with it my understanding on what a guitar was capable of was completely changed.
As my playing developed I started doing sessions with local bands and session bassist John Howitt. I later was introduced to indie and post rock music and soon formed my first gigging band, Five Fathoms Deep. During this period I was invited by John to start up a recording studio and music composition business which is a project that I feel very honoured to be part of.
I moved to Brighton to study a degree in professional musicianship at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music on which I graduated in 2014. Recently I have been part of folk rock band Land of Youth. I am currently in the process of building up my portfolio and writing for my own projects.
